Augustine Paul Tucker has over 15 years of experience in the community development initiatives sector, with specific focus on WASH and Health. Currently, Augustine is a Program Manager for Movement towards Peace and Development Agency-Sierra Leone (MoPADA-SL), where he focuses on management, initiating, designing, and directing the implementation of WASH and Health programs for his organization operations in the country. Augustine holds a Master of Science Degree in Extension and Rural Sociology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Njala University where he focused on community-based development initiatives, mentoring, coaching of community led initiatives, and identifying WASH and health gaps in schools, health care facilities and communities.
He has worked as a teacher in a renowned Secondary school and served as a peace monitor, conflict mediator and resolution under Conciliation Resources a then UK based INGO. Augustine Paul Tucker is passionate about his commitment to social justice for rural communities and spent relentless efforts in ensuring everyone everywhere in rural communities have access and sustainably manage WASH and health in Sierra Leone. Augustine hoped that by the end of 2030 the world would have been able to reduce WASH and health related problems. He wants to witness were community members can stand up, speak out and demand for their God given right from the duty bearers so that rural communities can experience a complete equal and a just society. Augustine plans to continue her work in WASH and health considering gender equality as a crosscutting issue for women’s rights and equal opportunities.
